To say Laura Beth Oliver-Agee started her graphic design business, swag from her kitchen table isn’t to much of a stretch.  “When I started my business I didn’t have a desk to work on so I brought in my kitchen table from home.”  Laura Beth’s business has come a long way from such humble beginnings. After graduating from the University of Alabama in 2008 with a major in Public Relations and a minor in graphic design, Oliver-Agee worked with other firms for two years before striking it out on her own.  The Russellville native said everything happened very quickly once she decided to strike it out on her own.  “I decided to start my own business, I found this space in downtown and I went for it!”  Swag now has four full time employees working with rotating interns year round. Oliver-Agee is helping mentor as well as run her business. Starting in the fall of 2014, her intern, Alec Vasquez will have his shirt line, Nauti-Threads being sold in Tuscaloosa. “I call her my business mom.” Vasquez says. ”I’ve learned so much working here.”

Laura Beth is proud that she is able to help mentor aspiring business owners. She stresses the importance of creativity.  “Every design is done in house and is hand drawn.  We don’t use clip art, we hand pick the colors, we want all our customers to have an original design.”

Swag offers wedding invitations, greeting cards, mass mailers, t-shirts, corporate and social invitations.  T-shirt orders start at a minimum of 12 and promotional items start at a minimum of 25.
